3Dir: Dynamic Download Directories Chrome Extension
3Dir is a pre-alpha Chrome extension developed by igordc. It is a free browser add-on that aims to enhance the organization of downloaded files by dynamically moving and renaming them to directories based on specified criteria.
The main functionality of 3Dir is to automatically move downloaded files to a folder with the same name as the domain from which the file was downloaded. This creates a downloads router within the user's local downloads directory, making it easier to locate and manage downloaded files.
It is worth noting that 3Dir has been tested for normal binary downloads as well as webpages downloaded using the "Save Page WE" Chrome extension. However, it does not override the standard CTRL+S behavior for saving webpages.
In terms of customization, 3Dir offers one option which allows users to specify whether all domain directories should be placed within a top-level directory named "3dir".
If you have any feedback or suggestions, you can provide them on the project's GitHub page, accessible through the extension's website.
